To be completely transparent, I am out of ideas on how to start this blog. Maybe that’s not the best way to begin, but it’s the truth.
Writing has always been my way of giving my brain a rest and putting my heart into the power of vocabulary. I never knew I was actually good at it until later in life. Since the day I could hold a pen, I was writing made-up silly poems to loved ones or hiding away in personal diaries, my way of putting my crying heart to sleep.
I was unseen as a child. Nothing I did was appreciated or noticed. Though I was young and vibrant, I felt more like a dusty book on a shelf that no one was picking up to read. But I knew I was adventurous and interesting, simply because that was how I wanted to see myself. Even without unconditional love, I learned to hug myself through the chaos.
That resilience got me to where I am today: a mom, and a good one, I’d like to think.
The whole purpose of this blog is to break patterns. No matter what background you come from, you have the power to do better, be better, and break the intergenerational cycles that ate us alive as children. I am not a psychological educator, just someone who has walked a rough path and made it through. I will be sharing my personal story, along with helpful advice, to help you do the same.
Welcome.
